Microsoft Update Impacts Network Connectivity for Some Locations

Posted by SpeedLine Support on Sep 30, 2025 8:59:59 AM

A recent Microsoft Windows update will modify a network feature, impacting network communication. Microsoft originally planned to release this change in 2027 but it was included in their latest Windows update without notice. This Windows update will block SpeedLine stations from communicating with the primary station (Station 1) causing them to be unusable.

In order to resolve this issue, the SpeedLine Support team will need to run a system update utility on SpeedLine-supplied computers at some customer locations to ensure that network communications are not impacted. This will require our team to connect to multiple stations and run the utility. We estimate it will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes for each station that requires the update. This utility can be run on multiple stations at one time, which will lower the overall time needed.

This system utility update is required for all SpeedLine stations purchased between 2016 and mid-September 2025. Our Support team members will contact affected stores as quickly as possible over the coming weeks to update your system.

If you encounter Terminal errors, please contact SpeedLine Support for immediate assistance.

You have an option to pause Windows updates with the steps included below to reduce the risk that this Windows update will impact your store.
