SpeedLine 7.2 Release 800 is available now

Hello all,

SpeedLine 7.2 Release 800 is available today, Thursday Feb. 1, 2018.

Important Information about Security and SpeedWeb

This upgrade is not required for PCI compliance. However, once you install SpeedLine 7.2 Release 800 or later in your stores, you can expect far fewer PCI-required upgrades for SpeedWeb security.

What's changed with this release is that SpeedWeb is now hosted on Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) rather than Apache Web Server. Because IIS is built into Pro versions of the Windows OS, security updates are handled automatically through Windows Update. As a result, SpeedLine software upgrades for SpeedWeb security will be required less frequently.

Key Enhancements in this Release

Release 800 includes new features and enhancements such as:

  • The new IIS-hosted SpeedWeb (see above)
  • A new integration with Punchh Loyalty
  • The ability for SpeedLine Connect providers to send Vantiv PreAuthorization transactions to the store
  • The option to print quoted delivery and pickup times on labels
  • New dropdown selections in Coupon Requirements for Department and Connect Source
  • Secure deletion of fingerprint data for terminated employees to address biometric privacy

Upgrade Note for Users of SpeedWeb and CSK Kitchen Displays

The new version of SpeedWeb is not compatible with QSR Automations ConnectSmart Kitchen (CSK) software version 6.3.103 and earlier when installed on the same station. If you use kitchen displays in your stores and are running CSK version 6.3.103 or earlier, you will be blocked from installing the new IIS-hosted SpeedWeb on the same station as the CSK software, in order to ensure kitchen displays continue to work. The old version of SpeedWeb using Apache will be uninstalled. Contact Support if you cannot log in to SpeedWeb after upgrade, and require assistance installing SpeedWeb on a different station.
