For any Americans out there, November contains one of the most exciting food holidays of the year. Thanksgiving is a time to gather with loved ones and give thanks for the good things in your life, but for many people nowadays, it’s more about eating large amounts of delicious food. This is a great opportunity for your restaurant to capitalize on this upcoming holiday by introducing some Thanksgiving-themed foods to your menu. Here are a few Thanksgiving dishes that would be perfect for a pizzeria to serve this holiday season.

1. Butternut Squash Pizza

Squash might sound like a weird ingredient to have on hand in a pizzeria, but it can come in handy around this time of year. By using butternut squash as a sauce base, you can pair it with some lighter toppings like cranberries, kale, almonds, or ricotta cheese.

Not only does this provide a delicious Thanksgiving flavor palette, but it’s also a fantastic vegetarian pizza option to cater to those with dietary restrictions. You can even make it vegan by swapping the ricotta cheese for vegan cheese or no cheese at all.

2. Turkey Pizza

The biggest staple of any Thanksgiving dinner has to be the turkey, which is great news for a pizzeria because it can easily substitute for most other meat toppings on your existing pizzas. Have a popular BBQ chicken pizza? Make a temporary BBQ turkey version of it for the Thanksgiving season. Or you can create an entirely new turkey pizza creation that involves cranberries, onions, or whatever else you want to add.

3. Sweet Potato and Onion Pizza

Potatoes on pizza are quite rare, but not unheard of. And during the Thanksgiving season, you can utilize them to create a great holiday-themed pizza. Using a standard tomato sauce base, you can slice up some sweet potatoes, pair it with caramelized onions, and some arugula, cheese, and other toppings. While more subtle than the other Thanksgiving-themed pizzas on this list, it still resonates that familiar holiday flavor that people crave this time of year.

4. Wings, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Gravy

It’s not just novel pizzas that you can offer your customers. You can also adjust your chicken wing options to create a delicious Thanksgiving dish. Choose a savory wing flavor, and instead of pairing it with fries and ranch, you can transform the potatoes into some tasty garlic mashed potatoes, and then cover them in gravy. While it’s not quite a turkey dinner, it comes incredibly close and will likely be very popular during the month of November.

While any of these dishes will be perfect for celebrating Thanksgiving, you can create an endless variety of other dishes as long as you make sure to include a Thanksgiving staple or two in each one.
