Prevent ADA Claims with Enhanced SpeedDine Accessibility

Written by SpeedLine Support | Mar 18, 2026 4:00:50 PM

SpeedLine is partnering with accessiBe to provide enhanced accessibility and protect your online ordering site from claims of Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compliance issues.

SpeedLine is committed to proactive risk management for our customers. While SpeedLine’s online ordering platform, SpeedDine, passes both automated and manual accessibility scans, conforming to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA rules, we are taking it a step further.

Customers may subscribe to accessiBe’s optional accessWidget to further assist with identifying any accessibility issues on their SpeedDine online ordering site.

Once you have subscribed to accessiBe’s services, the accessWidget can be installed on your website. The widget uses advanced AI technology to continually scan your website to identify and resolve accessibility concerns in real time.

Context on WCAG 2.1 Level AA Rules

In 2022, the United States Department of Justice declared that websites must conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA rules to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for individuals with disabilities. These guidelines provide clear recommendations for making web content more accessible to a wider range of people, including accommodations for:

  • blindness and low vision
  • deafness and hearing loss
  • limited movement
  • speech disabilities
  • photosensitivity
  • combinations of the above

The guidelines also provide accommodations for learning disabilities and cognitive limitations, though they will not address every specific need.

These guidelines address accessibility of web content on any kind of device (including desktops, laptops, kiosks, and mobile devices).

What This Means for You

Websites that do not conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards face an increasing risk of legal action, particularly in jurisdictions that allow a private right of action for accessibility non-compliance.

While SpeedLine websites pass both automated and manual accessibility scans, integrating accessiBe’s platform with your online ordering site provides:

  • Enhanced Compliance: Continuous monitoring to align with WCAG and ADA standards
  • Risk Mitigation: Features designed to reduce the likelihood of accessibility-related litigation
  • Seamless User Experience: A specialized interface that allows users with various disabilities to customize their browsing experience

accessiBe customers will also have access to a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). This document outlines your online ordering site's accessibility conformance and serves as a vital resource in the event of legal inquiries or actions regarding accessibility standards.
