Are you attending Pizza Expo 2020? How to make the most of the show:

By Elizabeth Kelly

This event has been cancelled due to Covid-19. For more information, please visit the Pizza Expo website.

Will you be joining us this year at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas? From March 31st to April 2nd, thousands of pizza restaurant operators will be descending on Las Vegas for seminars, workshops, networking events, and of course the Pizza Expo trade show. We’ve outlined a few ways for you to ensure you’re getting everything you can out of the event:

Attend the keynotes

Each year, Pizza Expo invites fascinating people in the industry to present keynotes on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. This year, Anthony Falco will start off the day on Tuesday for us. The famed pizza czar works around the world as a consultant to pizzerias and restaurants, helping them create the perfect pizza for their concept.

Wednesday morning will be kicked off by a presentation by Ken Forkish. Forkish is the author of Flour Water Salt Yeast: The Fundamentals of Artisan Bread and Pizza and The Element of Pizza. He also won the 2012 James Beard Award. Forkish owns three restaurants in Portland, Oregon: Trifecta Tavern & Bakery, Checkerboard Pizza, and Ken's Artisan.

Compete

Compete in one of the five divisions of the International Challenge: Traditional, Non-Traditional, Pizza Napoletana, Roman, Best of the Best, or Pizza Maker of the Year. Or, test your skills in dough stretching, acrobatics, and box folding in the World Pizza Games. Winners of each of these competitions receive cash prizes and bragging rights. We talked about how competitions can help your restaurant’s public relations strategy in Grabbing the Media’s Attention: How to get press coverage for your pizzeria.

Sign up for seminars and workshops

Get information you can use to build your business at the seminars, workshops, and demo presentations. Industry professionals will walk attendees through a variety of courses about running a restaurant, pizza making, and marketing. This year, seminars are being offered by Mike Bausch, Anthony Scott, Nick Bogacz, and others.
