Preparation times (called Prep Parts in SpeedLine) are time periods used for preparing food (such as pizza dough) in advance. When you define prep parts, you give each prep time a name and tell SpeedLine when it starts. These periods will appear in the prep report you print for staff.

1. Click the Settings tab, and then click System Setup.
2. Click Operations Planning and then click the General tab.
3. In the Prep Parts area, click the Add button.
   
   
4. In the Prep Part Name field, enter the part of the day you prepare the food, and then click in the Caption field to auto-fill it with the same name.
   
   
5. Click in the Start Time field and enter the time you would normally start preparing the food.
   
   
   
   
6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 if you have additional prep times to define.
   
   
7. On the Edit menu, click Save Changes.
