Update Your GST Tax Rate

Effective January 1, 2008, the Goods and Services tax (GST) rate in Canada will be reduced from 6% to 5%. To update your tax rate in Store Manager, follow the quick and easy procedure below.

To Change Your GST Tax Rate:

Note: SpeedLine recommends making the tax change after running Day End on Dec. 31, 2007, or before the start of business on the first day you are open in 2008.

  1. In Store Manager, click the Settings tab, and then click Money.
  2. Click Tax Items.

  3. Under Tax ID, click the GST tax item to select it.



  4. In the Value field, delete the old tax rate and enter 5.

  5. On the Edit menu, click Save Changes. The next time you start Terminal, the new 5% tax rate will take effect.
